ROSWELL, Ga. -- Roswell Mayor Jere Wood, along with other mayors from Metro Atlanta, will take to the streets on Tuesday, Mar. 22 in the sixth annual Georgia Rides to the Capitol event.

The police-escorted 21-mile ride will lead cyclists from Roswell City Hall to the Capitol. It was established to raise support for a regional bicycle and pedestrian network system.

Other riders will leave from Stone Mountain, Covington/Conyers, Peachtree City, Dunwoody, Smyrna, East Point and Marietta/East Cobb.

Georgia Rides to the Capitol is sponsored by the Metro Atlanta Mayors Association (MAMA) and Georgia Bikes!

MAMA also intends to raise awareness of the benefits of bicycling as an important form of transportation, a beneficial economic development and tourism tool, an excellent way to maintain health and fitness, and a great sport and family activity.

The Roswell riders will leave City Hall (38 Hill Street, 30075) at 9:45 a.m. and are expected to arrive at the Capitol around 11:40 a.m.
