ATLANTA – There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.

Join 11Alive and the Atlanta Humane Society for the 21st Annual Pet Parade on Saturday, May 7. The parade starts at Piedmont Park at 11:00 a.m. and features 11Alive’s own, John Gerard and Chesley McNeil as the Grand Marshalls. Registration for pets starts at 9:00 a.m. and the event ends around 1:00 p.m. Registration for a pet and a parent is $35, on Saturday morning. Piedmont Park is located at 1071 Piedmont Avenue in Atlanta.

Revolutionary hip-hop duo, Dead Prez will headline a concert at Masquerade on Friday, May 6. The two-some, composed of stic.man and M-1 are known for their “raw” and “in-your-face” style of lyricism. The duo’s lyrics focus on political topics and they examine the current status of peoples living and functioning in today’s current political and economic environment. Tickets are $22.50. Masquerade is located at 695 North Avenue in Atlanta.

Popular VaHi eatery, DBA Barbecue is hosting a summertime Fish Fry on Friday, May 6. The Friday Night Fish Fry is a signature event and will feature live music by Eddie Tigner with Chicken Shack, a local blues act. The fish fry will include favorites like: fried catfish and shrimp, hush puppies and other menu favorites. DBA is located at 1718 Peachtree Street in Atlanta.

The Atlanta Hawks will return to the Highlight Factory for the first home game of Round 2 of the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs. The game will be held at Philips Arena, starting at 7:00 p.m. After being defeated by the Chicago Bulls (86-73) at the United Center on Wednesday, the Hawks are likely hungry for a W. Fans are being urged to arrive early for the game due to enhanced security measures. Tickets to the game are still available and can be purchased on Ticketmaster.  Philips Arena is located at 1 Philips Drive in Atlanta.

Atlantic Station, Atlanta’s “premiere” live, work, play community is hosting their “Atlanta Gives Back” benefit concert on Friday, May 6 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The concert features four local bands: The Mad Violinist with The Symphony Crack Orchestra, Jarin and the Crushed Ice Band, Graham’s Number, TAASK. The concert costs $10, which will be donated to storm victims in, both, Georgia and Alabama. Attendees are also encouraged to bring goods for donation.

Singer Kelly Price, in conjunction with The Salvation Army, is holding a Mother’s Day Charity Donation at the Horizon Sanctuary at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Friday, May 6 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The singer is in town to celebrate her album release however, she’s on a mission to help the victims of the recent storms. The drive is collection donations of unused toiletries, non-perishable food items, bottled water, make-up and jewelry. The donation will be held at 400 Auburn Avenue in Atlanta.
