DUNWOODY, Ga. -- A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, August 30 at Marlow’s Tavern in Dunwoody, commemorating the official opening of the new neighborhood restaurant at 1317 Dunwoody Village Parkway. Marlow’s also took this time to present Special Olympics Georgia with a check in the amount of $5,638 that was raised during the restaurant’s pre-opening week fundraiser.

“This is an exciting day for Marlow’s Tavern,” says John Metz, chief executive officer, executive chef and co-founder of Sterling Hospitality. “From the ribbon-cutting ceremony with our new friends in Dunwoody to the check presentation with our longtime partners at Special Olympics Georgia, we couldn’t be prouder of our newest location,” he adds.

Eat at la Madeleine, help No Kid Hungry

ATLANTA -- La Madeleine Country French Café is making it easy for customers to help hungry kids.

The restaurant chain has teamed up with Share Our Strength to support its annual fundraiser, Dine Out for No Kid Hungry.

"It is tragic that there are kids in our own communities going to bed hungry when there is a solution," la Madeleine president and COO Phil Costner said in a statement. "This is why the la Madeleine family has joined the ranks of those who can and are doing something about it."

From Wednesday, Sept. 5 through Saturday, Sept. 22, la Madeleine customers who donate at least $1 to No Kid Hungry will receive a free triple chocolate peppermint cookie.

A $5 donation will score customers a coupon booklet featuring $20 worth of coupons for la Madeleine favorites, such as bakery treats and the chain's famous tomato basil soup.

New Marlow's Tavern location in Dunwoody hosts cocktail party for grilling recipe contest finalists

DUNWOODY, Ga. -- On Saturday, September 8 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.,  Marlow’s Tavern in Dunwoody is celebrating the finalists of the restaurant’s “Get Up in Our Grill” Recipe Contest.

During the popular neighborhood tavern’s six-week long “Red, White and Brew” menu offering, which took place earlier this summer and featured seasonal American favorites, all eight locations of Marlow’s offered grill masters the chance to show of their skills in the Marlow’s Tavern Third Annual Grilling Recipe Contest. Interested grillers entered their favorite recipes from June 12 through July 23, and Executive Chef John C. Metz reviewed all recipes and determined the following six finalists:

DUNWOODY, Ga. -- Marlow’s Tavern in Dunwoody is celebrating its grand opening with a week of nightly dining deals and events from Monday, August 27 through Sunday, September 2 for local residents. The neighborhood restaurant, which opened on Tuesday, July 31, has planned seven days of exclusive offers and specials.  

The grand opening festivities include:

  • Monday, August 27 - Sunday, September 2: Guests who sign up for Marlow’s Tavern Insiders Club during this week will be registered to win free dinner every week for a year. To become an Insider, guests can visit www.marlowstavern.com or sign up at the restaurant.

  • Monday, August 27: Insider Day- All Marlow’s Tavern Insiders will receive 20 percent off their check.

Eat out, raise money, help kids

ATLANTA -- You can do your part this week to curb Georgia's high school dropout rate. All you need to do is eat at one of your favorite restaurants.

On Thursday, Aug. 23, proceeds from restaurants across the state will be donated to Communities in Schools of Georgia, an organization that encourages young people to complete their education and succeed in life.

The sixth annual Dine Out for Kids event hopes to exceed last year's total of $30,000 for children in the state.

Communities in Schools, which has chapters across the country, provides mentoring and after-school services, including parent education, literacy programs and youth leadership opportunities.

Tin Lizzy's comes to Dunwoody

Tin Lizzy's comes to Dunwoody

DUNWOODY, Ga. -- Tin Lizzy's Cantina recently opened its fourth Atlanta-area location near Perimeter Mall.

The new restaurant has revamped the typical Tin Lizzy's menu to include more gluten-free choices. Profits from some menu items also benefit Bert's Big Adventure, a local organization that raises money to send disadvantaged children to Disney World.

"We are thrilled to join the vibrant and diverse Perimeter neighborhood, and we believe that Tin Lizzy's affordable offerings will be a unique addition to this neighborhood," Tin Lizzy's co-owner Andrea McKoski said in a statement.

The new Tin Lizzy's location held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 1. Its Perimeter location boasts 4,900 square feet of dining space, a full bar and numerous HD televisions.
