Maggiano's offering free pasta to take home

ATLANTA -- Maggiano's introduced a campaign Monday that will allow guests to bring home one of its popular pasta dishes for free.

The Buy One, Take One, Give One movement invites Maggiano's diners to enjoy two meals for the price of one in celebration of what the restaurant chain is calling National 'On the House' Pasta Day.

"Maggiano's is proud to have given away six million Classic Pastas on the house to date, and to thank our guests, we are sending everyone who visits Maggiano's Monday, Oct. 22 home with a free Classic Pasta of their choice," Maggiano's Little Italy president Steve Provost said in a statement.

Customers who eat at Maggiano's on Oct. 22 can choose from a variety of options -- including Four Cheese Ravioli, Mom's Lasagna and Taylor Street Baked Ziti -- to take home and enjoy for lunch or dinner the following day.

DUNWOODY, Ga. -- Maeve Pesquera, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar’s Director of Wine and Hall Winery President Mike Reynolds have worked together to create Fleming’s newest boutique private label wine – Forty-Six Diamonds 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Forty-Six Diamonds 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a collaboration between Fleming’s Wine Director and Hall’s Director of Winemaking Steve Leveque and assistant winemaker Megan Gunderson, and will be available in each of Fleming’s 64 restaurants across the U.S. starting Thursday, November 1. This limited edition premium boutique wine is produced exclusively with Hall’s estate grown grapes from its vineyards in Napa Valley. Quantities are extremely limited and prior allotments have sold out quickly.

It’s an exciting time for  Ray’s at Killer Creek. In its thirteenth year of business, the beloved Alpharetta restaurant is currently revamping its overall feel with an updated look and fresh new food offerings. From a menu item cooking competition amongst all Ray’s Restaurants’ chefs to a grand reopening party later this fall, the Atlanta restaurant group is truly embracing this special season of change.

One important element of Ray’s at Killer Creek’s renewal is menu revision. To ensure all new dish additions are well-received by guests, all three Ray’s Restaurants are participating in a new menu item cooking competition. The contest started in late September when the executive chefs and sous chefs from each restaurant started developing new dishes, asking guests to try them and provide honest feedback.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar announces its latest Cocktail for a Cause: the “Sweet Charity.” For the entire month of October, 100% of the sales of  “Sweet Charity” will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the world’s largest voluntary non-profit health agency dedicated to funding blood cancer research. The cocktail will be featured on Fleming’s popular “5 for $6 ‘til 7*” bar menu and available after 7pm for $9.95.

Created by Fleming’s Director of Wine Maeve Pesquera, the new “Sweet Charity” cocktail is elegant and floral combining Lillet Rose infused wine, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur and soda water, served over ice in a wine glass with a raspberry garnish.

ATLANTA -- From Tuesday, September 18 through Monday, October 22, Marlow’s Tavern is offering a five-week long “Ribs & Whiskey” menu. During this time, all nine locations will serve up an assortment of saucy and savory ribs along with a variety of seasonal drinks for diners in search of fall fare.

“As the fall season rolls around, our guests look forward to our Ribs & Whiskey menu for the hearty, seasonal flavors,” says Executive Chef/Co-Founder John C. Metz, Jr. “The weather cools down and our guests crave the once-a-year taste the menu brings,” he adds.

Marlow’s Tavern Honors Summer Grilling Recipe Contest Winners

Marlow’s Tavern recently celebrated the winners of the restaurant’s summer grilling recipe contest at a party at the new Dunwoody location on Saturday, September 8. The “Get Up in Our Grill” Recipe Contest was held during Marlow’s popular six-week “Red, White and Brew” menu feature (held June 12 through July 23) and gave local grill masters the opportunity to enter their favorite recipes for a chance to win an array of prizes.

Alon’s Bakery and Market to Participate in International Bakery Open House

ATLANTA -- Alon’s Bakery and Market in Atlanta is one of 55 bakeries participating in The Bread Bakers Guild of America’s 2nd Annual International Bakery Open House on Saturday, October 20.  Guild member bakeries in 27 US states and 3 Canadian provinces will take part in the open house, which is part of The Guild’s 2012 event series, The Cereal Series: Going With the Grain.

The Guild-Wide Bakery Open House was conceived as a way to bring communities to their bakeries, as well as to champion the cause for locally made bread.

Both locations of Alo’s Bakery and Market are participating in the open house. From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Dunwoody location, guests can watch as Owner Alon Balshan bakes flatbread and focaccia in the wood-burning oven and enjoy a tasting of flatbreads, cheese and hummus. Cookies and beverages will also be available to sample during the day.  From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
