Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) recently added the following Atlanta business leaders to the Corporate Board of Directors:

  • Frank Fenello, managing director at UHY Advisors GA, Inc
  • Ernest Greer, managing shareholder with GreenbergTraurig in the Atlanta office
  • Andy Macke, vice president of government and community affairs with Comcast
  • Dane Mauldin, senior vice president with LexisNexis Solutions
  • Thomas McNeill, partner at Bryan Cave Powell Goldstein
  • Colin Meadows, active CAO of Amvescap
  • Merrick Olives, managing partner at MOSAIC
  • Brenda Potter, vice president of public affairs for Fiserv

The move continues the non-profit organization’s tradition of tapping leaders from Atlanta’s business community to support its efforts to serve Atlanta youth.

Turner Construction Employees Teach Students About Careers in Construction at CareerExpo

Turner Construction Company employees are part of many in the industry at the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia’s (CEFGA) 7th annual CareerExpo this week. The expo is Georgia’s largest youth workforce development event for the construction industry.

More than 4000 students from across Georgia are attending on Thursday and Friday this week at the Georgia International Convention Center. 300 companies, trade associations and post-secondary education and training programs created interactive exhibits to demonstrate the scope of the industry and introduce students to specific career paths. The 2011 Expo simulates the construction of Arabia Mountain High School, Georgia’s first LEED-Silver public high school.  The sights, sounds, and equipment of a real construction site make the Expo an interactive educational experience.
