Founder Emily Sanders Continues as Chairman, CEO and Chief Investment Officer


Sanders Financial Management, an Atlanta-based financial advisory and investment management firm, today announced the promotion of Owen Malcolm, CFP, to President of the firm.  The firm’s founder, Emily Sanders, will continue as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer and adds Chairman of the Board to her titles.


The changes were made at the firm’s October 16, 2011 Board of Directors meeting.  Malcolm brings 11 years of experience with the company to his new position.  He has managed the day-to-day activities of the firm for several years and will continue to do so in his new role.


Emily Sanders, the firm’s founder, praised the move: “Owen’s election as President acknowledges his stellar performance for the firm over the years.  He embodies our values and the promotion is a reflection of the trust he has earned with our clients and the board.”

A Florida native, Malcolm graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berry College with a BS degree in Finance and from Kennesaw State University with an MBA in Entrepreneurship. He is an active member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and a Certified Financial Planner.  Malcolm is also the firm's Chief Compliance Officer.


At the meeting, the board awarded Emily Sanders the title of Chairman.  She continues in her role as CEO of the company she founded 18 years ago and retains her role as Chief Investment Officer.


Sanders graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA degree in International Economics, and from New York University with an MBA in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Registered Financial Gerontologist (RFG).
