ATLANTA -- Calling all budding artists!

The Art Institute of Atlanta, in conjunction with Americans for the Arts, is holding a poster competition for people interested in enrolling at the institute.

The competition will be held in two categories: high school seniors and adults/high school graduates. Its theme, "You Can Create Tomorrow," challenges contestants to depict how they would use their education at the Art Institute of Atlanta.

Both local winners will receive scholarships to the institute ($3,000 for a high school student, $1,000 for a graduate) and advance to the national competition. The high school senior who wins at the national level will receive a full scholarship to the Art Institute of his or her choice, while the graduate winner will win a $10,000 scholarship.

"We are inspired by the creativity that students exhibit in the artwork they create for this competition and believe that this scholarship competition helps some of our most talented students achieve their goals," said Jo Ann Koch, president of the Art Institute of Atlanta.

The Art Institute of Atlanta is located at 6600 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, convenient to Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and MARTA.
