Dunwoody Residents Upset Over Retention Pond
News

A new retention pond on the campus of Dunwoody High School has residents concerned about its potential health hazards, especially the attraction of mosquitoes.

The pond is part of a multi-million dollar facelift for the school, but nearby residents worry that disease-carrying mosquito larvae will make the shallow pond into their home. The DeKalb County School System says that it is working hard to respond to these complaints. Last week, Dunwoody city officials acted by placing larvicide briquettes in the water.
