News, Transportation

Dunwoody – August 06, 2010 – The City of Dunwoody has contracted with Allied Paving Contractors, Inc. to complete the City’s first street resurfacing project, part of a five-year paving plan. The resurfacing project will begin Monday morning, August 9 on Vernon Lake Drive. Roads included in the resurfacing segment of the paving plan include:

Vernon Lake Drive, Trapnell Court, Vernon North Drive, Hidden Branches Court, Littlebrooke Ridge, Littlebrooke Way, Dunwoody Club Drive, Winters Chapel Road, Amberly Court North, Joberry Court.

Roads scheduled for major patching include:

Spalding Drive, North Peachtree Road, Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Ashford Center Parkway.

This time last year the Public Works Department worked with the firm IMS, Infrastructure Management Services, to complete a pavement condition survey on 150 miles of public streets within Dunwoody. The results from that survey enabled the City to create the five-year paving plan that resurfaces most of Dunwoody’s major streets by 2014.

Residents near the roadwork will be notified through the distribution of door tags and additional updates will be released through the City’s website and social media. Drivers should be advised there will be some delays and temporary road closures over the course of the current paving project.
